Who are we?
We’re an Internet-based Radio Station which came about thanks to you, the listeners. We began transmitting as SunshineGOLD on Monday 1st October 2012 with just one deejay, Chirpy, doing his live and interactive breakfast show from 0800-1200hrs Monday to Friday. In between time we’ve had a lot of help from Radio England International, streaming their music output for most of the day.
As well as this we’ve run two shows created by Ian ‘Cookie’ Cook for Dutch station KBC and first broadcast in 2009.
In December 2012 we were joined by Mike Kroll who lives in downtown Detroit in Michigan and Keith Scowcroft from Poole in Dorset. Together they present the show ‘The UK USA Rock n Soul Connection‘.
On 2nd February 2013 we welcomed another deejay, Johnny Barker from Essex. He’ll be entertaining us every Saturday from 1000-1200hrs UK time with a show we’re sure you’re going to love. If you miss it you’ll get another chance to hear it on Sunday night from 2200-2359hrs & Monday afternoon 1200-1400hrs
Since Easter Sunday 2013 we have been broadcasting many new shows including Jerry Wright’s-The Album Show Revisited,John Irving’s-Get Rhythm Show,Nick Gray’s-The Emancipation Show,Discodance,Eurochart,Mike Round’s-Nowt but the 90′s, & Rory Hinchey’s- Tomorrow your heart.
On Saturday 13th April 2013 between 1200-1400hrs DJ Johnny B presented his first show from Somerset,UK here on Sunshine Gold,On Saturday 27th April 2013 its the turn of Disco Trekkin’ with Mark Weech to impress us!Thursday 16th May,Richard Smith presents a one off show,The A-Z of Eurovision followed closely by Dave Roberts with 57 years of the Eurovision Song Contest on Friday 17th & Saturday 18th May.
